A Little Boom for Your Zune
One of the things you learn after attending a bunch of trade shows: you never know what to expect. Kicker initially built their reputation around subwoofers and over the years successfully moved into amplifiers, speakers, marine and wiring. It kind of makes you wonder what they're going to conquer next.
A few weeks before this year’s CES show, Kicker announced they had promoted someone to head up their Home and Portable Division, pretty much eliminating any element of surprise—and I would definitely have been surprised to see home audio stuff in Kicker’s booth! One of the products to come out of Kicker’s new direction is this home/desktop boombox system for the iPod and Zune. That’s right—the Zune! After checking out this little guy, one thing pleasantly stood out from most other desktop systems I’ve seen: this boombox sports a rear-firing square subwoofer! This is one of the first products from a car audio brand to directly support the Zune, a surprising turnaround from the iPod-centric world to which we’ve become so accustomed. But of course, you can't simply ignore iPod's clout, so an iPod version is available. We've got more pics after the jump.
