Hot Car, Hot Sounds: JL Audio JL-350
JL Audio has always brought their A Game to CES, and this year is no exception. For 2008, they featured a Ford Mustang nicknamed the "JL-350". Their gang down in Miramar, Florida went over this puppy from top to bottom, adding a world class stereo, building all-new door panels, and wrapping every interior panel in gorgeous suede and leather. I especially liked how they chose to keep everything subdued—it's not until you look closely that you can actually see the incredible attention to detail. Of course, appearance isn't everything, and you can always depend on JL Audio to bring a car which sounds as good as it looks. After Sean and I got a chance to listen to the system's new HD amps and TW5 slim mount subwoofers, we were very impressed with how great it imaged. The subs are extremely accurate and you'd never guess that such a shallow sub could produce such rich, low bass.

Completely custom door panels.
Custom dash with motorized screen the comes up from the top of the dash. Notice no aluminum trim and the custom-stitched leather.
Custom center console. Dig the flushed, aluminum-trimmed remote.
Tweeters mounted up at the windshield.. Kid of a JL Audio demo vehicle tradition.
HVAC controls moved to the suede-covered headliner
Three T5W 12's mounted in a custom rear deck and trimmed in aluminum.
Nice, clean and simple trunk. Two HD amps on the passenger side and on the right was a JL Cleansweep processor.

I'm getting annoyed by everyone tacking on the term "HD" to things. Those HVAC controls are pretty trick.

Hey I really like this set up. I've been doing a search for the TW5's mounted in the rear deck. Question: I have an 05 Linocln LS and I want to install 1 12TW5 in the rear deck. Do you have any suggestions about how to get it installed. Right now even the JL Dealers in my area Nor Cal can't appreciate what I am talking about but I know and now I see that it can be done. I am trying to maintain a completely stealth/stock look.
Your feedback is appreaciated.
