Not Blue Hawaiian, Blue Fusion
The first thing I thought when I heard "Blue Fusion" was "Is that one of Derek Zoolander's signature facial poses?" But I was wrong... Blue Fusion is Scosche's newest Bluetooth adapter for OEM radios. And after a quick demo, I was impressed. In the past, most of the Bluetooth phone adapters didn't work with factory radios, but the Blue Fusion integrates with the factory radio, gives full handsfree cell phone capability, and allows you to stream music via Bluetooth into the OEM system as well. The radio displays caller-ID, and offers access to missed, last, and dialed calls, and will also accept phonebook pushes from compatible phones. One really cool feature?...
If you're listening to a CD or the radio and call comes in, the radio will automatically switch over to the phone source, and when the call is completed will automatically switch back. Pretty convenient! Initially available for Ford, Honda and Toyota vehicles, they expect to expand the offering to include several other vehicles over the course of 2008. Here are some of the features of the kit:
- Caller ID on Headunit Display
- BlueTooth 2.0+EDR
- Hands-Free, A2DP
- DSP Echo & Noise Cancellation
- Phone Book Sync if phone has capability
- Phone Directory Scroll Look-up
- Audio Signal Plays thru OEM Audio System
- Audio Interrupt/Source Redirect
- Volume Up/Down - Cellphone and Streaming Audio
- Adjustable Cellphone Ringer Volume
- Phone Answer/Aang up
- Track Forward/Back
- Play/Pause
- Mute Microphone
- Hands-free Microphone
