New Diamond Audio Hex Pro: Honeycomb Goodness

Personally, I thought the new Diamond Hex flat woofers were pretty sexy, but Diamond stepped it up a notch with these all-new Hex Pro components. I spoke with Brian over at Diamond and he broke it down for us:
    "The new HP650 HEX PRO component system utilizes Diamond Audio's patented TDX motor system. This unique design combines a high energy neodymium magnet and an integrated heat-sink to provide one of the most efficient and how power motor systems available on a speaker of this caliber. The 2.5" light weight voice coil is attached to a linear spider and the companies famous HEX cone. The HEX cone provides a greater weight to strength ratio than any other cone material commercially available today...."

...The system also features a unique 1.25" metal dome tweeter utilizing a similar TDX motor as that found in the midrange. The tweeters larger sealed back chamber helps to produce a low fs enabling the tweeter to be crossed over at an extremely low frequency. The tweeter and mid are mated to an industry-best passive crossover network that features the tightest component tolerances available. This crossover features a unique top mounted control panel allowing for simple set up and adjustment. Controls include tweeter attenuation, phase and bi-amp/bi-wiring selection. Heat generation components in the crossover are directly attached to the units' extruded aluminum heat-sink providing effective heat dissipation for increased power handling. This system features a three year warranty when purchased from and installed by an authorized Diamond Audio retailer."
