Realm Introduces Sexy Flat Subwoofer
Realm is a relatively new player to the world of car audio, but they've done their research and it shows in their product. I had a chance to demo Realm's speakers, amps, and subs both this year at CES and in 2007 when the company first came to market. The speakers have excellent tonal quality and construction is top notch. If you get a chance, make sure to check them out at your local dealer.
Well, Realm has stepped it up a notch and along with the beefy and intimidating LFT subs from the current line-up, Realm now offers a thin subwoofer as well. Designed more for Sound Quality than SPL, the LFT12-D4f (pictured), has a mounting depth only 2.87" and can take about 600 watts peak, 300 watts RMS. The shallow basket makes the woofer perfect for tight spaces where a standard woofer won't easily fit.

REALM INTRODUCES FLAT SUBWOOFER
Flat Subwoofer Offers Unique Installation Capabilities
Oxnard, Calif., (January 21, 2008) – REALM, an audio company dedicated to high-end components designed for discriminating consumers, announced it has developed a new flat low frequency transducer. The company, debuted at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show, is committed to pursuing a new standard of automotive audio, offering high-end audio components with an emphasis on sound quality. The new flat subwoofer is the newest addition to its product line designed to provide maximum low bass extension when conventional woofers can’t be fit into an application.
“The launch of REALM was embraced by the aftermarket community,” said Kas Alves, vice president, sales and marketing, REALM. “Our commitment to sound quality, quality designs and outstanding performance are paramount to the success of the brand. Our new flat sub offers unique installation capabilities without compromising the audiophile grade sound REALM was designed around.”
REALM low frequency transducers are optimized for modest sized enclosures without sacrificing low extension. The flat design was a natural addition for the REALM line. The flat 12” subwoofer (#LFT12-D4F) offers the deep bass sound of a full-sized low frequency transducer in a compact design. Less than half the depth of a typical subwoofer in its class, the LFT12-D4F has a mounting depth of only 2.87” and handles 600 watts max and 300 watts RMS power through dual 4-ohm voice coils
Designed to fit virtually anywhere, the REALM flat subwoofer is ideal for installations underneath or behind a seat or in a small trunk. REALM engineers to exacting specifications and utilizes superior materials to ensure flawless output and extreme durability. The LFT12-D4F will retail at $299.99 and will be available late Spring at specialty retailers across the United States. Visit www.realm-audio.com for more information on the new line of REALM flat subwoofers and the REALM line of audiophile grade speakers, amps and low frequency transducers.
