Sinfoni of Destruction

Italian fashion, cars, and shoes all evoke images of high quality and cutting-edge style. Sinfoni has been manufacturing amps for years with the same philosophy. Yesterday I went by the booth and, in addition to all their regular amps and processors (which feature this beautiful brushed aluminum finish), they had a dual mono amp called the “Desiderio.” To give you an idea of the unit's sheer size, I placed my cell phone on top of it. The brochure I picked up says it weighs over 40 pounds and measures 516mm x 406mm x 104mm (approx. 20” wide by 16” wide by 4” thick). At 4 ohms, it puts out 325 x 2, at 2 ohm 605 x 2 and at 1 ohm 1050 x 2, all at 12 volts). Judging by its massive bulk and by the cost of other amps in the Sinfoni line, I assumed if I had to ask for the price, I probably couldn’t afford it.

It's pretty cool stuff! The simple and sleek brushed aluminum design kind of has a classic 70's home stereo design, but it really just looks great!
