Pioneer's New MINI-Mino Demo Car
CarScoop got their hands on these pics of Pioneer's new demo car built for a French car show that kicks off tomorrow. The details are bit blurry as they are in French, and no, I don't read French, and apparently neither does the Bablefish translator based on what it spewed out for me. But from what I can tell, this MINI is pretty well hooked up.
The MINI-Mino (that clever name is all me) sports a hot flat metallic bronze paint with white accents, an MS Engineering wide body kit, a Remus exhaust system, and rolls on 18" wheels with a Spax suspension kit. A front mount intercooler peaks out from the lower bumper opening, and the front headlights were smoked. The rear hatch has been sliced and diced, and a pick-up bed fabricated in its place.
Inside, the car has been completely overhauled. The centerstack was redesigned to house two source units. One is a Pioneer AVH-4000DVD, and the other I'm not so sure. On top of the center stack, Pioneer included an iPod dock, and the over-sized factory tach/speedo cluster was relocated lower in the new center console. The MINI-Mino also sports three 12" subwoofers, six amplifiers, a pair of tweeters, and 4 component systems. I think the translation also hints to a complete sound system in the rear as well, hidden under the toneau cover. I'm also a huge fan of the Recaro seats Pioneer decided to add. Check out the pics after the break. And if you can read French and can clear up some of the confusion from the translation, I'll send you a CarDomain t-shirt/gift pack!
