Kenwood Takes Daytona 500
Well this isn't ground-breaking news since CarDomain announced the race results about two weeks ago, but I figured I'd post this since I didn't know Kenwood was a NASCAR sponsor. Ryan Newman took fist place at the Daytona 500 this past February, beating out Tony Stewart for the first place finish. Kenwood supplied the pit crew with a slew of it's radio communication gear for the driver, pit crew, spotters and crew chief.

500
Daytona Beach, FL March 3, 2008:
Kenwood USA Corporation, the official supplier of radio communications systems
to Penske Racing, is sponsoring the #12 Alltel Dodge driven by Ryan Newman for
the 2008 season. At this year’s running of the Daytona 500, Newman took
first place and made Kenwood’s inaugural associate-level sponsorship a
tremendous success.
Keith Lehmann, Senior
Vice President of Kenwood’s Consumer Electronics Sector, said “Kenwood’s
sponsorship of the #12 Alltel Dodge and our driver Ryan Newman has opened new
promotional doors for Kenwood and its authorized dealers. As Penske

provided critical radio communication between driver, pit crew, spotters and
crew chief. We are very proud of Team Penske’s achievement at the first
and largest racing event of the 2008 season, and we still have the entire
season in front of us!”
Tim Cindric, President of Penske
