UPDATE: Audison "bit one" Details
Hey guys-- Just a quick update regarding the Audison bit one. Remember that the specs we provide are all pre-production and not necessarily going to make it to the actual unit.
- Unit will only have six RCA inputs
- Display is no longer on top of the unit.
- Has two digital inputs, one Tos-Link, one digital coax
- 1/3 octave EQ to correct signal issues. EQ is set up as 8 independent channels out, but you can "link" any of the channels for global EQ-ing (i.e. all front, all rear, all channels, etc rather than independent of each channel).
- Looking at a June delivery date
We also got a few comments from Audison based on our preliminary write up, explaining the AutoEQ feature a bit more. Here's what they had to say:
"The auto EQ feature for the high-end "bit one" will only be available if a separate AutoEQ kit is purchased separately, and will include the microphone. Once the Auto EQ calibrates all time alignment and EQ settings, they will be saved into the Bit1 and then the kit should be unplugged. The kit can be used with as many bit ones as desired, and therefore is designed more as a tool for installers than a retail purchase product. However it will be available for retail purchase if consumers wish to own one. The reason for the separate Auto EQ kit has to do with lowering the price of the bit one. As you know all Audison product is of high quality and in order for the Auto EQ kit to perform to our standards we have to use a fairly expensive microphone. The AutoEQ Kit will run somewhere around $300 (price not firm), and rather than pass that cost onto consumer, Audison decided to make it an accessory since dealers should be the primary purchaser of the kit and will only really need one or two per install bay."
We'll try to get a hands-on review of one of these guys ASAP.
