I Want That: Prestige Security
In this week's "I Want That" installment, Mr. Mobile tempts our gadget appetites with a taste of the Prestige XRO9100 alarm/remote start convenience system. Probably the most obvious cool factor with this system is the OLED-equipped two-way paging remote. The remote provides system status information as well as command confirmation when you tell it do something. If you've remote started the car, it tells you. If you attempted to remote start the car, and it fails, the remote tells you. If your alarm was tripped while you were away, the remote tells you what zone was triggered. And that's only the tip of the iceberg. And the fact that it uses an OLED display means it's easily readable in sunlight, and it uses less energy than a same-sized full color LCD.
