30 Years of Alpine: Party On Alpine, Party On
"Alpine" is pretty much synonymous with "car audio", and for good reason: they are one of the oldest and most respected brands in the car audio industry, and this year marks their 30th Anniversary! Many of us remember the Lamborghini marketing, the market-leading CVA-1000 flip-out video screen, the sound quality standard setting 7909, and the most recent SQ standard, the F#1 systems, but these are only the tip of the iceberg for Alpine's accomplishments. They do have quite a few very impressive demo vehicles in their stables as well. But all of this success in the industry is nothing without their fans and loyal consumers, and to show how much they appreciate the three decades of support, Alpine threw together a little invitation-only block party at their HQ in Torrance, California. Customer cars and factory demo vehicles filled the parking lots, live music by bands from Alpine's "Rock the Dash" contest filled the air, and grilled-up goodness from In-N-Out filled attendees bellies.
We've got a few event pics and a full press release on the event after the jump!
ALPINE CELEBRATES 30TH ANNIVERSARY WITH CUSTOMER APPRECIATION EVENT
Private Block Party Included Car Show Featuring Customer Rides, Live Music Stage
TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 25, 2008 – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.,
the industry-leading manufacturer of automotive mobile media solutions,
threw a private outdoor block party on Saturday, Aug. 23, to celebrate
its 30th year in the United States and to thank its most enthusiastic
aftermarket customers. The event was held at Alpine’s U.S. headquarters
in Torrance, Calif.
The crowd soaked up the southern California sun at the invitation-only
soiree. In addition to showing off and checking out each others’
Alpine-equipped vehicles in the Car Show area, attendees were treated
to live music throughout the day by bands from Alpine’s recent “Rock
the Dash” online music contest. The party also had an assortment of
games and activities, including a golf simulator, dunk tank and rock
climbing wall, as well as raffles for Alpine products and other prizes.
Complimentary food and refreshments kept guests fueled throughout the
day.
On display were Alpine’s over-the-top demo vehicles, including the
award-winning Mini Cooper S “Mini Speedster,” the BMW X5 “Ultimate
Listening Machine,” the stealthy BMW “Sinister 6” and this year’s
custom sport boat – outfitted with Alpine’s new Marine product line –
and GL550 tow vehicle. Also on hand was the 2,000-watt “V-Power
Experience,” where participants entered a booth to hear and feel 16
Type-S 12-inch subwoofers running off a single MRP-M2000 V-Power
amplifier.
“It was very important to everyone at Alpine that we share our 30th
anniversary milestone with our fans,” said Stephen Witt, vice
president, marketing, Alpine Electronics. “Their ongoing passion and
support have made it possible for us to continue developing and
providing relevant products for the U.S. market. We would not be here
today without them.”
