New Diamond Audio Hex Pro: Honeycomb Goodness

Personally, I thought the new Diamond Hex flat woofers were pretty sexy, but Diamond stepped it up a notch with these all-new Hex Pro components. I spoke with Brian over at Diamond and he broke it down for us:

Phat Flat: Diamond Audio Hex Shallow Subs

Flat subwoofers are about as common these days as a politician driving a hybrid, but fortunately not all flat woofers are made equal. Diamond Audio just introduced their new flat goodness, and it looks like they've got a real contender in the ring (square?). Diamond claims these subwoofers provide real bass in a limited space all thanks to their special design. The proprietary HEX motor system utilizes a solid core high energy neodymium magnet that's about 10 times stronger than a conventional subwoofer magnet. The magnet is encased in a low carbon steel housing that focuses all of that strength directly around the speakers 3" voice coil. All of this is attached to a genuine autoclaved carbon fiber cone and high roll UV resistant butyl rubber surround. Diamond Audio even backs this speaker with an industry best three year warranty when purchased and installed from an authorized dealer. The speaker will work well in both small sealed and ported enclosures.

It will also look incredibly sexy in your car. I got a brief hands on with the sub at CES and it is pretty impressive. The build quality seems outstanding and aesthetically there's not much that can match it. We've got a few more pics and full specs after the jump.
