Member Spotlight: PUGMEgti's Pretty Perfect Peugeot 106

Here's another crazy find from CarDomain's "Top A/V" list: PUGMEgti's 1997 Peugeot 106 show car. This thing is insane...

Where our BMW 5-Series choice from a few days ago was pretty  OEM-plus looking, the Pug's install resembles something you'd see at the Geneva Car Show as a concept. The interior was re-worked in white leather from head to toe, the dash completely customized, and the trunk loaded with bass. The dash is one of my favorite upgrades - the entire dash was smoothed, and the center stack made to look like a seamless futuristic console like those on the USS Enterprise. The double-DIN Alpine touchscreen and Dakota Digital gauges look absolutely sick behind the plexi and the Alpine remote mounted to a custom fabbed "arm" is just tough. This truly is a unique install.

Cool Stuff You Can't Have: Kenwood's K-WD01

As we've said before, the Japanese market really gets some pretty cool stuff, and it's pretty cool stuff that we probably will never see. Take the Kenwood K-WD01 double-DIN CD/MD combo radio, for instance. The simple and sleek brushed aluminum design kind of has a classic 70's home stereo design, but it really just looks great! I'm a little rusty on my kanji, so I'm not sure what the specs are, but it looks like Kenwood is pointing out the audiophile internal components. I did pick up that it has a 24-bit Burr-Brown D/A converter, which means excellent sound quality on the digital end. The CD player has a pretty impressive frequency response (10Hz～20kHz(±1dB)) and a pretty good signal-to-noise ratio (107dB). There's a couple more pics after the jump - check them out!
