New Image Dynamics Horns

Image Dynamics just released info on a new line of horns for 2008, the CD-Ultra and CD-Mini-Ultra horns. According to the ID catalog, the new 2008 CD-Ultra horns are:
    "Ultra compact and ultra high-fidelity making it the ultimate choice for the critical listener or competitor. CD-Ultra's compression driver has a 1" throat, 1.75" titanium diaphragm, edge wound aluminum ribbon wire voice coil, and a very high power neodymium motor structure. The CD-Ultra offers the best overall tonality and detail which is the result of the very low harmonic distortion combined with the ultra high efficiency of 110dB."

If you've ever had the chance to experience the full rich sound of a horn-based component system, then you know how amazing they are. True, they are not the easiest or most convenient systems to install, but the depth and sound quality is outstanding.

The Carnutz Guys are a Bunch of Car Nuts

I'm a big car and car audio nut, but most of the people running around at CES are there to see the latest and greatest consumer electronics for the new season. The guys in Image Dynamics had a killer Mercedes Benz coupe in their booth done by the guys at Car Nutz up here in the Seattle area. The wide-body Benz is custom from head to toe (fenders, wheels, hood, bumpers), and supposedly only a dozen of these were made. But what stepped up this one-in-twelve big-body was the world class stereo system featuring Image Dynamics equipment.

Jim of Image Dynamics gave Juan a a pretty lengthy demo, He started with a few "competition" tracks, then cued up a few hard-hitting alternative cuts (think Korn and Incubus). He really turned it up so we could get a good feel for how accurate and well-imaged the system was. This Benz was a real show stopper and sounded as great as it looked. If You Want Something Done Right...

I’ve been a huge fan of Image Dynamics for almost as long as I've been into car audio. I used to go to all the Sound Quakes in Southern California, and even had pictures of ID owner Eric Steven’s car with speakers in the kick panels and door, before he installed horns in it.
