Add a Touch of Class for Your iPhone 3G

The new iPhone 3G stepped away from the iPod's traditional aluminum back in favor for a white or black plastic rear. However, for those who appreciate the metallic look, check out these unique (and pretty pimp) InCase Metallic Slider Cases as an option.  Available in gold, silver, gunmetal, or copper, the cases offer scratch and impact protection for your precious gadget.

Take (Voice) Control of Your iPod

FLIR PathFinIR Camera

OK, so those that have been a bit jealous of Sync owners can now add their own iPod voice-control capability to their stereo system thanks to DirectVoxx's muso. The deivce -lugs into your iPod's headphone jack and seems to have similar causal speech recognition similar to the Ford Sync system.

"The muso is a pocket-sized accessory for the iPod and iPhone that allows users to access their music with natural voice commands. The Muso synchronizes with the user’s iTunes library directly on first use and requires no training to understand requests such as “Play me some Led Zeppelin”, “How about some Rolling Stones”, “Gimme jazz” or “Go to My Broadway Tunes playlist”. Acting as the user’s personal DJ and creating dynamic playlists, the Muso also allows users to make requests such as “play me something like the last song."

The battery will last about 10 hours on a full charge, and the little guy will take about $159 out of your wallet. The muso is not available yet, but you can pre-order it DirectVoxx's website. As soon as this is available, we'll pick one up and get some hands-on time with it (and possibly give one away?).

Reasons to Hate Photoshop - Part 2

By: Ben Vollmer, Car Audio Nationals

DriveandPlay

The Drive and Play 2 is an interface for in-car connectivity of portable music players and digital devices, including Apple's iPod, Sirius Satellite Radio, USB flash drives, and many other portable music players. It includes a 3-1/2" full color display screen, wireless 2.4GHz controller and a media hub. I have played with this slick little device and have enjoyed it quite a bit.

While flipping though the latest Performance Auto and Sound Magazine, something didn't seem quite right about this ad, but I couldn't figure out why. After staring for a few minutes, the display looked ok, but the mounting location seemed a bit odd.

iClooly Adds an Upright Twist to Your Touch

iClooly iPod Touch cradle, Aluminum, Black Resin

The multi-versatility of the new iPod Touch makes it a pretty unique multimedia player to have in your collection of gadgets. Probably the most awe-inspiring feature for most users is how the screen readjusts when swiveled 90-degrees, making it much better for watching video than standard iPods, and makes surfing the net a much more enjoyable experience (It's like it was made for Craigslist!).

We've seen a few iPod cradles and adapters come out recently that take advantage of the rotating screen technology, but none have done it with the class of iClooly. The iClooly is a simple, but well designed, iPod Touch cradle that gives your touch an almost a miniature modern iMac appearance. The cradle is made from aluminum and resin (plastic), and shoudl be available soon from GeekStuff4U.
