Scooped: Sirius Stratus 5!

Well, the guys at the FCC have hooked up gadget geeks again with another sneak peak of a Sirius product, this time the new Stratus 5. It's not a terribly exciting, but I figured we'd share it anyhow. The new Stratus 5 will feature a "hot" monochromatic three-line display, built-in wireless FM transmitter, and a pretty thin profile. While it's nothing to get uber-excited about, it is pretty perfect for those interested in getting an inexpensive taste of Sirius. The guys at Orbitcast suspect this also won't support the a la carte programming feature either, which is kind of weak, but oh well. Scooped: Sirius Starmate 5!

The satellite radio junkies over at Orbitcast got the scoop on the new Sirius Starmate 5 before its official release thanks to the FCC's website. The Starmate series is one of Sirius' basic portable/dockable solutions for satellite radio. Like most current Sirius portables, it will feature the Sirius universal dock so it can also be used as a direct-connect tuner for your aftermarket or factory radio (like what Mr. Mobile showed us in the latest "I Want That" video.) Here are some of the specs for the new Starmate 5:

• Sirius Replay: Pause/rewind/replay up to 44 minutes of live radio
• Memo function: Store up to 30 favorite songs and artists, plus a favorite sports team or NASCAR car, and be alerted whenever they're on.
• Wide-angle 5-line display
• Built-in wireless FM transmitter
• Remote control
• Universal dock

Polk Audio's New Sirius Home Tuner: SR-H1000

Since most of us are pretty much car guys, we're fine popping our portable Sirius or XM tuners into a cradle whenever we use them in our homes. But some prefer a slightly higher-end option, one that better matches their home audio or theater equipment. New Palm Centro To Feature XM Radio Streaming

The inexpensive Palm Centro has been getting rave reviews on all the mobile phone and gadget blogs, and the fact that it comes in at $99 is pretty darn amazing. Originally the phone was only offered by Sprint, but now AT&T has a version of their own, and with it comes exclusive services as well as exclusive colors (for now anyway). The pearl white Centro is available now, and "obsidian" version will be available shortly. The phone features a touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, green illuminated buttons, and this is also the first phone to offer streaming XM radio. Sprint offered Sirius on a few phones a while back, but I'm not sure if they still do. I had it on my A900, but I never tried it once. However, the Centro is more multimedia friendly than my A900 as it 64MB of on board memory, but you can also toss in up to a 4GB microSD card.
If anybody picks up one of these phones, I'd be curious to hear some feedback in the forums. What do you think? Like It? Hate it?
