Video: Crazy System With Motorization

Custom Install, Phoenix Gold, Alpine, Motorization, Demo Car, Car Audio, Car Stereo, Mobile Electronics, SYstem

CarDomain member OneCrazy95Civic posted up some videos to go along with the crazy system build in his 1995 Honda Civic. The first system in the Civic was pretty impressive, but the new build is shaping up to be pretty bad ass! The list of mods to both the outside and inside are more extensive than most SEMA cars! Check out the system list and videos after the jump! It's not done yet, but hopefully will be very soon!

Easter Eggs in Audio Gear

Circuit Board Easter Eggs, Car Audio, Amplifiers

Easter Eggs have been around for years. No, not the colored eggs you created as a kid... This kind of Eater Egg is a hidden feature or novelty that developers place into software, on circuit boards, in DVD's, etc that are hidden until somebody stumbles on them by accident. I can remember my friend Mike and I playing a flight simulator game in Excel and watching a volcano in Windows 9x. There is even a whole website devoted to Easter Eggs in DVD’s, CD’s and Software. And in the computer world, it's a pretty common thing to find art inserted on actual computer chips.

One of the most recent Eggs that made me laugh was in the Latest Apple Keyboard Update. Something tells me Mr. Jobs would LOVE to find this engineer and put him out of a job. :-)

A few years back, there was a thread on the old Phoenix Gold forum that highlighted some “easter eggs” on car audio circuit boards. While digging through an old Hard Drive the other day, I found a few images that feature some really great circuit board eater eggs. Rumor has it some of them are engineering samples, early production runs, etc... But some of them where in actual production pieces.

Do you have any easter eggs for Car Audio? Post them up in the forums!

Follow the jump to check out a few other cool and funny Easter Eggs from PPI and Phoenix Gold.

Phoenix Gold Roadster 66: Bringin' Back that Old School Feeling

Phoenix Gold, Route 66, Roadster 66, amplifier, car audio, PG, MS2250, ZPA.5, SPL

Over the years ago, Phoenix Gold has introduced several cutting-edge, high-power, high-dollar amps into the industry. Many have been very limited issue, but mention one to any old school car audio guy (ZPA0.5, ZPA03, MS2250, Octane, etc), and you'll instantly get a distant-but-concentrating gaze and a "those were the days" smirk.
Well, it looks like those days are back. This year Phoenix unveiled the new Roadster 66 amplifier, a surfboard of an amp with loads of power, gobs of style, and a really cool aluminum carrying case. This 5-channel behemoth is the epitome of amplifiers, designed for the power-hungry SQ enthusiasts with a 4-channel Class A/B full range section and a separate Class-D mono section for subs. Check out the specs and features after the jump and a host of pics as well.

CarDomain Member ArmoredHaulin's Beefy Build

Spring Break Nationals, Pioneer, Infinity, Soundstream, Tsunami, Audio Control, Eclipse, Phoenix Gold, Savv

Jen over at the CarDomain blog stumbled on CarDomain member ArmoredHaulin, who's restoring an old 1992 GMC Topkick armored car. He's also building out an audio system and plans to have this beast at Spring Break Nationals in 2009. Too bad he won't have it down there for this year's event, but we'll be sure to keep track of his install and keep you updated. Looks pretty insane and he seems to have just about everything needed for the install. He's got quite a mix of equipment ready to drop in - a mix of Pioneer, Infinity, Soundstream, Tsunami, Audio Control, Eclipse, Phoenix Gold, Savv - so this should be interesting. Click on the pic, or click here, to read the article and check out his page for all the deets.
