Team SoundDomain member Robert Petty has been building up his toy arsenal again, this time adding an Alpine KCE-300BT Bluetooth adapter to his IVA-W205. But since Robert is an engineer by trade and a gadget geek by hobby, he wanted to take his install a bit beyond what Alpine provides instructions for. Robert's Acura CL-S came equipped with an analog OnStar system (which was made useless after OnStar switched to an all-digital system not too long ago), and he successfully incorporated the factory OnStar microphone in his rearview mirror with the Alpine set-up. Now Robert has a stealthy hands-free solution for his mobile phone and can even stream audio from his cell into his W205.

OK, needless to say, driving a Lamborghini just made it to the top of "Best Things That Ever Happened To Me" list. I've driven quite a few crazy sports cars during my career, with the Dodge Viper holding the top spot...until now. The Gallardo features a 520hp V10 lump under the rear lid, pushing power to the monstrously wide 19" multi-peice wheels through an AWD transmission (42/58 split) that keeps that super-phat rubber planted beautifully. There wasn't a single second during the test drive that I didn't feel secure and safe. Truthfully, after my experience piloting a V10-powered Viper, I was a little worried it might be too much... But when you compare the Italian's V10's power delivery to that of a Dodge Viper's, the difference is stunning. True, the cars are considerably different from price to build-quality, but we're still talking about punch-you-in-the-gut V10 power. The Viper forces you you hold onto the steering wheel for dear life, while the Gallardo seems to quickly invite you to push it faster and faster.

The editors at CarDomain were invited to test Drive Lambos today by the good folks of Lamborghini of Bellevue. Honestly, John has pretty much wrapped the excitement of our crew in his post over on CarDomain. The SoundDomain blog will be a bit slow today while we're out of the office, but I'll have plenty of updates and pictures for you when I get back in the office.

Team SoundDomain member Robert Petty's weapon of choice for head units is the Alpine IVA-W205, a double-DIN multimedia powerhouse with good looks and user-friendly functionality. Since "Which Should I Get...." is a common question in the Head Unit Help section, Robert decided to post up a pretty great review of his IVA-W205 with plenty of photos and explanations as to why this is his preferred sound quality source unit. Robert also incorporated steering wheel controls and the incredible Alpine PXA-H701 processor to his multimedia mix. And while I wouldn't think to question his choice of equipment for even a second, his music selection is a whole other story.... (Kidding Robert!... Kind of)
