What Did You Do This Weekend?

Seattle is getting bombarded with incredibly great weather right now, so I figured I'd take full advantage of the blue skies and work on the GTI. I made some great progress on the hatch portion of the install, including the amplifier rack/tub and false floor, and I finally know what I'm going to do with the incredible amount of passive crossovers included in this system (stay tuned...).

SoundDomain Show-Off: Eric Champagne

I was just surfing through the SoundDomain Show-Off forum and I came across Eric Champagne's 1999 Chevy Cavalier post. He has quite a mod list in the forum, and pics are available on his CarDomain page. It's definitely worth taking a look! One thing that grabbed my attention: his car is one of the first I've seen to use the Kenwood KOS-V1000 multimedia system. If you're not familiar, the V1000 is basically an 8-Series Kenwood screen system in separate components with no actual in-dash module, everything is designed to be component add-ons. It's actually designed for cars with integrated radio systems that aren't easily upgradeable, but in his case it let him add a large touchscreen upfront that controls his entire system.

SoundDomain Show-Off: Andy Jones

We recently added the SoundDomain Show-Off section to our Forum Family, and it's slowly being populated with pics from SoundDomain members who want to show off their installs or get other members' opinions. Once a month we'll pick a privileged SoundDomain member from the Show-Off forum to feature in the blog.

After going through the posts, we decided that none-other than SoundDomain moderator Andy Jones and his 2007 Nissan Altima deserved the spot. Why? Well not only is he one helluva helpful guy in the forums, his car's install is pretty darn amazing. So much so, that Andy took home 2nd in MECA Modex+, and earned the first place trophy in the Car Audio Nationals One Seat Class.
